1. First Stanza- Rita Joe teaches you a little bit about her past.
Second Stanza- Her talk, native tongue, has been taken away and she is being taught to be like everyone else.
Third Stanza- That she doesn't really have her own voice, it is hidden behind something more powerful.
Last Stanza- She wants to be herself and not have to be like someone else.

2. The feelings change in the last stanza. You can tell this because she is asking for her individuality back.

3.This poem is Free Verse. The image that I see is someone who has half of a happy face and the other half is sad. I Lost My Talk makes me want to change because I don't like the thought of losing my individuality, or making someone else lose theres.

4. A) This technigue helps you understand, it helps you connect. It allows you to put yourself in her position.
B) Rita Joe would like people to learn about her culture without bias.
